about the founder

Karla is a retired Doctor of Physical Therapy who is passionate about functional movement as it relates to efficient posture, breath patterns, and body awareness.   She regularly provides neuromuscular training for small group fitness classes as well as patients seeking one-on-one sessions.  She is a PRT with the Postural Restoration Institute and practices as a Personal Trainer (Certified Special Population Specialist (CSPS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

 

As a hobby, Karla teaches several types of yoga including aerial yoga.  She has been teaching Hatha yoga and mindfulness for over 25 years.   Her classes offer unique cues and support because of the bio-mechanical airflow focus and her years of education.  Her classes deliver ways to provide relief to specific body ailments, tips to get the most out of each position, as well as an understanding of the spiritual body and how to tap into one's own wellspring of health.   

 

Corporate clients have used Karla's wellness programs for meditation/mindfulness instruction as well as ergonomic training for design of work stations/office settings.  Her training delivers applicable tips to alleviate pain of workplace demands by retraining the body in posture placement.  Karla's goal is to bring more power and vitality to each client by teaching less misalignment for the body and more nervous system regulation for the mind and body!

Many say that Karla's success has to do with her ability to blend east and west, subtle energetics with functional, science based treatment - a special matrix of treatment for the whole being.
